DJ Presha @ Millenium 1999/00.
|
A passionate DJ, Presha's performances are always funky and climactic.
He started out in 1994 playing hip-hop, followed by funk, house and techno, it was Drum and Bass the following year that inspired Geoff to devote himself purely to that style.
Presha had what was possibly this countries first completely Drum n Bass radio show on RDU in Christchurch, 'The Breaks'. He also promoted the first all Drum n Bass gigs in Christchurch, at Espresso 124, which were also called 'The Breaks'.
Soon after, Presha launched 'The Breaks', in Auckland's Calibre club, New Zealand's first weekly drum and bass night.
Career highlights for Presha includes playing with DJ Trace in Miami; Australia at Rumble in Adelaide; before Kemi & Storm in Melbourne and after them in Sydney. Local highlights include playing after Doc Scott at The Box in 1998, playing before Grooverider in Christchurch also in 1998, and his set before Andy C in 1999 where he was briefly accompanied by MC GQ.
Geoff is also half owner of Subtronix promotions who have been instrumental frontrunners in putting New Zealand on the map as being one of the best dates on any international Drum 'n' Bass DJ's tour schedule.
