Chelsea (originally from the UK) came to NZ in November '95 with a box of
tunes & the notion that she was only going to stay for three months. Four
years down the line & she is still residing in NZ & loving every minute of
it.
Since then chelsea has held several DJ residences as well as guest DJing
around NZ, which has established her as the most prominent female DJ in NZ.
She was awarded BFM's House/Techno DJ of the year & voted DJ
of the year by Metro Magazine (1999).
Known for her style of deep dubby tech house beats & grooves Chelsea is a
DJ that knows how to enjoy herself on & off the decks & when she's not
working, is a regular feature on NZ's dancefloors.
In July '98 she released her first mix CD - NZDJ Vol.1 and in April 2000 released 'Bottom Heavy', both of which have received rave reviews including press in the UK's Muzik magazine.
Aside from DJing Chelsea runs her own promotions company - madhouse
productions. Dedicated to the tech house sound, madhouse has successfully
toured Terry Francis, Dave Mothersole, Colin Dale, Asad Rizvi & dave Angel
in the last two years with Evil Eddie Richards & Pure Science (Live).
Chelsea is also working closely with Red Bull Energy Drinks promoting the music academy for DJs set up in Dublin Ireland for the year 2000.
