Gathering 2000

The Gathering is New Zealandâs most loved and well-known dance event. The Gathering 2000 is the fourth Gathering and the seventh new year dance party held in the Golden Bay region. Thousands of people each year make the trek to the top of Takaka hill where a patch of bare farmland surrounded by ancient beech forest is transformed into a huge adventure playground of music, dance, performance, camping, play and sun.

This CD presents a selection of some of New Zealandâs finest electronic musicians that have played a big part in the growth of The Gathering and New Zealandâs electronic music scene. What makes it uniquely ours remains an enigma for words, but in feeling it's obvious - it's the music of our landscape, our people, our friends, our history and our collective spirit.

"Future Proof" - Pitch Black.

Pitch Black

A stomping mix of cinematic soundscapes, booming beats and ambient electronic melodies, that moves the head and heart as much as the body. There is not a moment in the album which isn't influenced by delay. A hightlight release for New Zealand Electronic music.

Kog Transmissions, and it's new House music imprint Reliable Recordings, present Algorhythm 2, the highly anticipated follow up to last years successfull (reaching number 7 in the compilation charts ) New Zealand House music compilation Algorhythm.

The release includes New Zealand's many of the biggest music producers in House music today including Subware, Greg Churchill, function-F, Jedeye, Tom Ludvigson, P.James, Baitercell and Mark deClive-lowe and also introduces some fine fresh contributors such as epsilon blue, DJ Phully, ReactorMusic, the Kingsland Housing Project, Signer and Cuffy & LeonD among others.

"Dub Combinations" - Compliation.

Dub Combinations

The dub style as a free-standing musical genre has been with us now for some thirty years. Whilst much has been made of dub's great influence on other contemporary musical styles like hip-hop, house and jungle, it is the reverse effect that has kept dub music so fresh and turned it into such a broad-ranging generic expression. Nowadays the term 'dub' can mean as many things to as many people. This new compilation from the house of Kog serves to display this huge diversity whilst also providing a showcase for many of this country's most experimental audio manipulators.
